This painting was initially an idea that I had for a tattoo. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate shoe laces or a shoe print. There wasn’t much thought into the concept besides the fact that I love sneakers and bright colors. I grabbed some markers and drew a lime green shoe lace tied into my arm. I liked the idea of the skin stretching with the tension of the laces. I never got the tattoo, but about a year after drawing it on my arm, I decided to paint it.

This painting is currently hanging on the wall at FM Station. I plan to work on a series of silk screened prints with different colored laces. Those will include a veriety of my usual choice of colors; magenta, purple, lime green, magenta, etc.
