Works of My Hand

This is a painting where I expirimented with texture and detail. I try to exercise techniques of blending and shading to learn to paint more realistic subjects. This concept came from a bible scripture that says, Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” My Dad was a pastor of a Christian church when I was born and I was raised in the church. Many of my childhood life-lessons were very much inspired from the Bible and my Dad’s wise words.

This piece is an imaginative idea that when I’m gone, the work that I’ve done will stay behind. When I’m gone, the work I’ve done with my hands will stay behind. I have the tattoo of my family name on my right hand, as a symbol of pride. When people see me drawing or painting, they see my name. I push myself to work as hard as I can on my artwork because theres nothing better in life than to live, work and enjoy life.
