If I’m not working to improve my work and my skills, I feel like I’m letting myself down. I don’t know if I can ever be content with who I am as an artist. I refuse to compare my self to my peers. I want to compare myself to my favorite artists and designers. I want to achieve more than those whom I admire. I want to be more than any one expects.

I enjoy working with vinyl toys to potray personas that symbolize various personalities and additudes.When I start a new project, I shop specifically for a figure that lends itself to a goal I’m aiming for. These sharks were once black, and I really liked the wide open mouths and jagged teeth. I thought about the brightly-colored, venomous frogs and flowers of tropical forests and exotic habitats. Their unique, natural defense mechanisms have been intersesting to me since I was a kid. 

I always scrubbed the toy with acetone to remove all of the paint. I took off the teeth and toungues to clean every crevice. Then I painted the parts with acryilc paint using a brush.

Last Friday I got the blank shirts delivered to my door and I also got the flyers printed! Today I dropped the shirts off at the silk screeners and I’ll have the finished shirts in a couple days. You’ll see the finished product on Friday.
